The Technology Behind Neuro-First Care
Everything we do begins with the nervous system and that means we don’t guess. We measure. Using INSiGHT scanning technology from the Children’s Health Center / CLA, we can objectively assess how your nervous system is functioning, where stress is being stored, and how well your body is able to adapt. These are the same advanced scans used by neurologically-focused practices around the world, and they’re a cornerstone of every care plan we build.
Request an AppointmentWhy Scans Matter
Most healthcare relies on how you feel, but symptoms are a late and unreliable signal. By the time pain, poor sleep, or dysregulation shows up, the nervous system has often been struggling for a long time. Our scans let us look beneath the surface and see what’s actually happening, so we can address the root cause instead of chasing symptoms. They also give us a clear baseline, so we can track real progress and show you objectively how your body is changing through care.
- Objective, not guesswork — real data about your nervous system
- Safe, gentle, and non-invasive — appropriate for babies through adults
- No radiation and no discomfort
- A clear baseline to measure progress over time
The Three Scans
We use a combination of three complementary scans to build a complete picture of how your nervous system is working. Together, they reveal the story symptoms alone can’t tell.
1. Neurothermal Scan
This scan reads the temperature differences along your spine to assess the function of the autonomic nervous system — the part that controls your organs, digestion, immune response, sleep, and the balance between fight-or-flight and rest-and-digest. It helps us see how well your body is regulating the systems that run automatically, beneath your awareness.
2. Surface EMG (sEMG) Scan
This scan measures the electrical activity in the muscles along your spine — showing us how much energy your body is spending and whether it’s stuck in patterns of tension and stress. It reveals whether you’re wasting energy holding stress in your body, or using it efficiently the way you were designed to.
3. Heart Rate Variability (HRV) Scan
HRV is one of the most respected measures of nervous-system resilience and overall adaptability. This scan shows us how well your body can handle and recover from stress, a powerful window into your reserves, your resilience, and your capacity to heal.
Especially Powerful for Kids
For children, especially those facing sensory, behavioral, developmental, or focus challenges, these scans are a game-changer. A child often can’t tell us what’s happening inside their nervous system, but the scans can. They give parents real answers and a clear picture of why their child may be struggling, and they let us track meaningful change as care progresses. For so many families, it’s the first time anyone has shown them what’s actually going on beneath the behavior.
Your Report of Findings
After your scans, we don’t just hand you numbers. We sit down with you for a Report of Findings, a dedicated visit where we walk through exactly what your scans revealed, what it means in plain language, and what your personalized path forward looks like. You’ll leave understanding your body, or your child’s body, better than ever before, with a clear sense of hope and direction.
Common Questions
Are the scans safe?
Completely. All three scans are non-invasive, gentle, and radiation-free. They simply read what your body is already doing, which makes them safe and comfortable for everyone from newborns to grandparents.
Will the scans hurt my child?
Not at all. There’s no discomfort involved — the scans gently glide along the spine and read the body’s signals. Most kids find the process easy and even interesting.
How long do the scans take?
The scanning process itself is quick — usually just a few minutes. We take our time afterward to interpret the results and prepare your personalized Report of Findings.
Do you repeat the scans?
Yes. We periodically re-scan to objectively measure progress, so you can see how your nervous system is changing through care rather than relying on feeling alone.
